Gregory Alan Isakov tickets

The Cal Coast Credit Union Air Theatre presents “An Evening with Gregory Alan Isakov” on September 13, 2025! After lulling the States into a trance with his stripped-down Americana, Isakov braces for an extensive European trip, but not before one last stop in the heart of San Diego.

The Grammy-nominated tastemaker will perform, with utmost soul and emotion, the hits that landed him on the shortlist of must-see folk acts through much of the 21st century. Gregory Alan Isakov began his sprawling discography in 2003 with the seminal Rust Colored Stones, expanding upon its well-worn acoustics and lyrical sincerity a decade later in 2019’s Evening Machines. Take in the illuminating experience of his greatest singles, from “San Luis” to “Big Black Car” to “The Stable Song,” retreading history until the dawn of his latest studio album, Appaloosa Bones, which features the cult classic hit “Sweet Heat Lightning.” Discover life and love again with Gregory Alan Isakov — get tickets now!

An Evening with Gregory Alan Isakov

Gregory Alan Isakov trails North America to regale audiences with his rustic blue-collar folk songs. This year, the Grammy-nominated artist garnered ovations in a widely celebrated Symphony Tour with the nation’s best orchestras, followed by a three-day Denver residency in mid-spring. Summer finds him back on the move across the US, touring alongside friends and special guests. Before departing for Europe, the road puts him in a solo performance in San Diego. Join him on September 13, 2025: “An Evening with Gregory Alan Isakov” at the Cal Coast Credit Union Air Theatre.

“Simple. Straightforward. Utterly evocative,” the Associated Press admired. Indie folk singer Gregory Alan Isakov welcomes you this Saturday night to explore the fundamental melodies of love and longing, , of life as told through the junction between folk and  Americana. He offers the humble, introspective tunes that laid the foundation of his quietly thriving career. Long-running favorites such as “Big Black Car,” “Amsterdam,” “San Luis,” and “The Stable Song” are but a few standards of the Isakov concert experience that never disappoint. From more recent fare, he gives the disarmingly sincere hits of his latest album, Appaloosa Bones (2023), which include its lead single “The Fall,” “Miles to Go,” and the fledgling classic “Sweet Heat Lightning.” You’ll hear bouts of beautifully soul-baring music strummed in silver strings, stripped down to the essentials that comprise the gritty yet oft-transporting simplicity of traditional Americana.

Born in South Africa but now based in Colorado, Gregory Alan Isakov angles his songwriting from a uniquely itinerant standpoint. His first record, titled Rust Colored Stones (2003), set him on a path of invigorating the quaintly scenic folk landscape, marking decade milestones on acclaimed albums This Empty Northern Hemisphere (2009) and Evening Machines (2019), with the latter getting a nod for Best Folk Album at the 62nd Grammy Awards. Lend your ear as Isakov tells these tales at the Cal Coast Credit Union Air Theatre. A key landmark at SDSU, this popular amphitheater is one of California’s premier outdoor concert hotspots, singularly defined by its breathtaking backdrop, sightlines, and state-of-the-art sound production.
